Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

The snowpack will gradually stabilize and the avalanche danger will decrease. However, you can't trust steep slopes yet especially along the higher ridgelines on the east half of the compass. Human triggered avalanches are still likely in this terrain today. Conditions remain complex with some areas holding fairly stable snow and other areas not far away holding very unstable snow. It is difficult to detect the difference just by looking at a slope, which makes conditions tricky. The easiest way to not get caught in an avalanche right now is to simply avoid slopes steeper than about 30 degrees.
