Avalanche Advisory
Advisory: Salt Lake Area Mountains Issued by Bruce Tremper for Monday - October 21, 2013 - 1:27pm
special announcement

It's looking a wee bit wintery in the high country. There's about a foot and a half of snow around 10,000' in the Salt Lake area mountains and although we have not had time to check it out in person, there seems to be significantly more than that in the high elevations of Timpanogos and Cascade Ridge in the Provo area mountains.

We will start issuing intermittent advisories around November 1st or sooner if conditions warrant.

Some of us are busy this time of year getting set up for the season--installing weather stations, updating the website and Craig Gordon is working full steam planning the big Utah Snow and Avalanche Workshop on November 2nd. If you are a professional or advanced amateur and looking for a day of continuing education, head to the Southtowne Expo center on November 2nd. Click HERE for information for the professional session. Click HERE for information on the advance amateur section.

You can also check out our Events section for upcoming events in the mean time.

We should start our regular advisories around the first of November or sooner, if necessary.
