AIARE Rescue is an 8-hour course that reviews the basics of avalanche rescue, multiple burial rescues, and techniques for complex rescue scenarios. This course is ideal for those who are new to the backcountry or who want to refresh their skills before or after taking an AIARE 1 course.
Snowbird Mountain Guides' avalanche courses follow the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) Curriculum, as standardized by the American Avalanche Association. All courses are led by AIARE-certified instructors with AMGA training or certification in the ski discipline.

Prerequisites
Students must have the required gear to practice avalanche rescue, as well as the skills to move around in variable surface conditions in uphill or downhill mode on their touring gear or on snowshoes. This course is a good refresher on the rescue skills learned in a Level 1 Avalanche course, but this is not a prerequisite.
Equipment
Touring backpack, transceiver, shovel, probe (Mammut demo included if needed), ski poles, skis/splitboard with uphill capability, climbing skins cut and fitted. Snowshoes can be used in place of skis/splitboard
