Comments
Unknown exactly when this occurred, however it most likely ran either on the 20th or 21st post storm and wind event. Large cornices formed with stout wind slabs in start zone. Initial failure was from a cornice fall which pulled out the entire season snowpack to the ground, and then wrapped into the remainder of the bowl which had previously ran back on Nov 26th. Crowns varied from 5' to possibly as deep as 12' deep along the the cornice break. Debris over ran all benches and into the main gully. Judging by the amount of debris it most likely ran to around 7000' - 7300' in elevation. The weather station just 100' away from the crown was not operational at the time due to heavy riming on the 13th - 15th, so wind speed and direction are not available. However, judging by the direction of the cornice build up and location of the cornice break I would think this occurred during a sustained period of West to NW winds.
