Looked across the street from Stairway at Bridal Veil and saw debris around the same elevation I was standing, around 5,600'. As I looked up the gully I could see the flanks carved out from the debris and further up there were connected crowns/flanks on either side of the path. Couldn't see the start zone but from looking at the map it could have started as high as almost 9000'. Don't think it happened today but recently enough for the debris to still be pretty defined.
