My partner and I skied into East Bowl at 12:30. We witnessed two remotely triggered very small (6"x10') soft slabs when looking back upon our tracks. We decided to avoid the lower terrain trap and ascend back through East bowl pass.
On our ascent we remotely triggered the pictured slide. It washed over one of us. That skier was able to stand throughout the event but was buried to his calves. The other skier saw the event coming before it hit, called out "Avalanche" and began to skin downhill at a 45 degree angle. That skier was knocked off his feet as the slide came to a halt around him. Neither skier was hurt.
We completed our ascent through the slide bed skinning and booting as necessary to avoid hangfire. Upon reaching safety, slide was called in to Alta patrol
