Comments
Most people think Glide avalanches only happen when it's warm and free water is percolating down the rocks slabs but i'm pretty sure it has more to do with the creep of the snowpack. Saw 2 slides today that i'd classify as glide slides. This one was on the S side of the Diving Board and looked pretty fresh. The debris consisted of large chunks of blue ice and hardslab like snow. Thinking the timing was yesterday at some point in time. The crown was up to 10ft deep and it cleaned the rockslabs to the polished surface.
