Comments
Group was working our way up the ridge northwest when the lead skier got within 15 feet of the windloaded cornice. We had discussed this slope being loaded before and intended to pass it and move on to lower angle terrain. Lead skier was visibly on top of rock and bushes and triggered a crack which shot 100 feet east and triggered the entire north facing shot to move. Slid down to the ground on top of the facet layer. Avalanche continued to widen down the slope before narrowing into a steep choke. Group beacon checked the debris but received no signals, witnessed another large avalanche (potentially natural) out of yellow jacket trees and were not able to beacon check that debris.
