Snow Profile Comments
Snow pit was on same elevation and aspect. Pit was on a slope angle of 28 degrees. Slide was on 33-35 degrees. The pit did not have the wind-load that the slide did. Obvious wind loaded from days of SW wind. We played it safe and did not investigate close to the avalanche.
Comments
Probably happen 24 hours before. Overnight new snow covered the slide area. That section of the ridge line prone to more wind loading, especially with the SW wind. It ran through the trees and ran for about 1,300'.
