Comments
Weak faceting early November snow at the ground was capped by 12"-20" of new snow. The last warm SW storm deposited an increasing density snow throughout the first 2/3 of the storm then dropped in density the last few inches as the NW cold front dropped in. This higher density layer in the mid pack created a very supportable layer that helped bridge the entire slope and aided in propegation across a wide area. Notably, certain sections of the slope with slightly lower slope angles failed to avalanche, while all surrounding peices of snow did fail.
