Comments
Early morning after the storm - snow was still coming down. Identified some potential wind loading at the top of the run but determined the slope felt stable - no cracking identified.
First skier in our party dropped into the run and stayed skier's left. Second skier in our party veered skier's right, triggering the avalanche on the snow-rock interface. Soft slab propagated to the ground. An avalanche had been triggered at this same location about two weeks ago and had likely left this rock face exposed before the storm, leaving a weak interface between the rock and new snow on this isolated face.
