Comments
Driving down canyon from Brighton and happened to come around the corner at just the right time to see a wet slab avalanche gouging Powerhouse couloir wall to wall.
By the time I was able to pull over to observe, the slide had already proceeded into the gully/creek run out and was out of view due to the scrub oak.
The slide had enough volume/power to jump the dog leg near the bottom and pour directly over the cliff as well as the slide path. Bummed I couldn't get my phone out in time to film it. Photo isn't great but you can see what appears to be the crown where the wet slab started 100' or so below the trees.
