Comments
while walking along thunder ridge today, a SE facing cornice (4 ft long) fall triggered a D1 soft slab avalanche (~3-4 inches deep, ~100 ft wide) that ran ~400 feet down the SE face of the ridge. the cornice drop was unintentional and attributed to stress on the cornice from a pole plant.
