Comments
Today at 11:00 we witnessed 2 skiers trigger a slab avalanche on the North East face of the ridge between Lake Peak and Rainbow Peak at about 9900'. No one was caught or carried. Once the first skier initiated the avalanche the skier skied to the shelf to wait for skier 2. I watched the second skier ski the bed surface of the previously cut avalanche to the debris where skier 1 was waiting. There were 2 other avalanches skiers left on the same aspects of the previous avalanche that we did not witness but assumed to be sympathetic.
On our tour up the White Pine Fork we noticed 2 small slab avalanches, one on the North West face of the Spire at 9600' from the previous day, and the other on a Northerly small convex rollover BTL at around 8600' that looked to be skier triggered per the ski tracks running into it.
