First for me and I have hiked this particular region many times :) this avalanche was about 2800 ft of gain up the trail... a bit after the second stream and a bit before the carved tree. It didn't reach the trail but was a good reminder that Olympus does have some steep portions that can avalanche. One person in our party shot for the Olympus summit and mentioned slides around the scramble...
