Comments
We were able to see multiple naturally released slides on north east aspects likely from heavy wind loading. We did dig a pit at about 8200 feet on a north east aspect and found a buried layer of facets which would have been the surface hore that developed during our previous dry spell. This layer wax buried 16 to 20 inches with new wet heavy snow the compression test failed on 15 at this layer and when doing the ECT it failed with full propagation across the slab at 16. Total snow depth was 6 ft 7 in at this site with lower layers in the snow pack well bonded and strong. Later in the day the southern aspects started to demonstrate heat soaking and wet slab possibilities with large roller balls and sluffing.
