This avalanche was reported by a homeowner who lives above the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and below the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. It was most likely a wind slab triggered by wildlife overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Mark here in Cottonwood Heights. Here are a few pics of slide we talked about in my urban neighborhood.
I believe there are actually two separate slides that you can see in the pics. All shot at the top of Prospector Drive Cul de sac. The larger one clearly went across the BST trail and down into my next-doors neighbors back yard.
I showed my other neighbor the slide from his front porch and he has not seen a slide on the hillside in the 40+ years they have lived there. Actually both slides came across the BST trail. Weird for me as there is not that much snow and it was drifted with no cornice. Quite cold as well. Did not see foot prints or ski tracks. Did see a couple of deer in the close vicinity last evening.
