Comments
We spotted three avalanches in upper White Pine from just above White Pine Lake. Two were on the SW aspect of Red Stack, with one of those two (left, or northern) possibly being large enough to bury a person (Photo 2), although it was too far away to estimate debris depth. The tracks appeared consistent with loose snow avalanches, probably wet loose given the aspect. There did not appear to be any tracks near the larger one, but there were tracks adjacent to the smaller (right) one.
The third avalanche was on the SE aspect of Lake Peak under Lake Chute. The debris was not deep enough to bury a person, but the slide was large enough to take someone for a ride. This may have also been a wet loose slide, or it may have been a wind slab, as the NW wind we observed today was cross-loading the terrain above. Couldn't identify the (potential) crown or the trigger was as the wind had already drifted more snow over much of the track.
