Comments
We took a walk up to Hogum today and saw lots of east, north, and some northwest crowns on steep slopes that all looked naturally triggered. Most if not all crowns looked to be at least a few days old and likely occurred during or shortly after the last recent cycle.
Aside from recent avalanche, we saw wind loading on many east and northeast aspects as this storm was coming in. Some of the steep lines up in the basin had obvious signs of large avalanches, but this was not clear for all. We opted to stay off steep stuff and ended up skiing a lot of wind blown snow, but found soft stuff on most of the low angled east aspects.
