I began my descent off little superior just above where you side step that large fin as you exit the saddle of little superior and full superior. I planned dropping the SW face/ shoulder that trends true south. I transitioned on top of that fin and found a line that began traversing a small shallow gully coming off the south face. It was really more of a corner on the south face. Foolishly I did not take into account the steeper face that connected the shallow gully to the open face and almost as soon as I stepped into it to began traversing it broke 11 feet above me. I was carried on my feet for maybe 4 feet before I back skied into the corner as it passes by. I noticed it propagated slightly as it slid but not to there're was an apparent bed surface. More or less like it was a lot of snow that was slowly loosing momentum from the start. After skiing down around the corner from where It first broke I felt safe to ski the lower anger terrain and slide path out into the apron of superior.
