I know this is not a serious avalanche, but with all of the carnage the last week at lower elevations I thought I would submit this as an additional warning.
I live in Suncrest at 6,250 feet of elevation. Yesterday I noticed a side slope in my yard had released. it is a north facing slope approx. 35 degrees and north facing. Since Sunday night we have had 25.5 inches of snow. While the slope is sheltered from the wind by house I loaded the slope with snow from my snowblower.
The debris pile was almost three feet deep and could have been disastrous if my grandchildren had been playing.
I am staying off of anything steeper than 25 degrees for a few more days.
