Comments
While putting a skin track up the east side of the drainage of Mt. Aire, I had 3 or 4 significant collapses. I've been in this area a couple times over the past week or so, and knew of the obvious PWL. I gained the ridge and headed to a low angle slope I knew that bordered a small gully. I was skiing approximately 50' from the gully and was about half way down when I saw the avalanche running through the gully and going full track into a small stand of aspens. It was getting late so I didn't go back up to see the crown or see the exact distance my ski track was in relation to the slide. The noted width/depth are estimates from my vantage point. Definitely good to know were you are while out in this current snow pack.
