Surprised to Hear Through the Grapevine that a group lapped claytons off the Back of Great Western so we figured we'd give it a look knowing that it was wind loaded to all hell. When we peaked over the ridge line we saw that a hung chunk of the face ripped out skiers left of the obvious gully run that runs fall line. There was a single track leading into where the slide obviously cracked off where the hill gets convex and very rocky. We did not see anyone drop in and there were no signs of anyone /group at the bottom. We contacted ski patrol, and were able to communicate with some snowmobilers in the basin who checked for a beacon signal which they did not find. Sobering sight for sure and I hope no one was caught and Carried.
