Comments
Came across a very recent natural avalanche up Providence Canyon on the NW side of Millville Peak. The crown broke ~100' wide just below the summit ridge line at ~9200' on a broad wind-loaded NNE aspect. Measured the crown slope angle at 39 degrees. The 20" wind slab failed and ran on the old melt surface crust for ~800' vertical. No visible trigger. Heard audible collapsing snow in the vicinity.
