Comments
Saw an unreported crown on the north east side of white baldy today. Crown was likely 2' and very sharp but debris was beginning to settle in the moraines below, so we estimated it slid yesterday or the day before.
the crown was notably wide, as seen, and looks to have all gone together. The debris below was of similar age. We think it was wind loading from the NW overloading the recently buried NSF layer on very thin, rocky and steep terrain. No other similar activity spotted but this avalanche was very wide. Debris extended hundreds of feet below. Definitely d2 at least.
FORECASTER UPDATE: This slide occurred on or around Jan 6th.
