Today our party went out to ski White Snake, off of Gobblers Knob, BCC. During the approach, we noted 4-5" on top of a hard-supportable crust. The snow was staying cold, and felt less sun-affected as we gained elevation. Before gaining Bakers Pass, we noted a similar looking slide path to the West of White Snake, and decided it would be a good option. We found no signs of wind-loading on the face, and we did several ski-cuts during the entrance of our pitch. After descending about 1,000 feet, a member noted a small point release coming from a cliff face below us. At around 9,300 feet, a ski-cut released a slow moving slide, that was manageable. Due to the nature of the terrain, this wasn't a big surprise. The new snow was warmer at the lower elevation, and was not bonding particularly well to the hard crust below.
