Stumbled onto this pile of debris with large mature trees that were ripped out in the slide. I traveled through this area on Feb 21 and did not see this at that time indicating it probably pulled out afterward. There was a very windy period on Feb 21 and 22 which was probably the trigger for this slide. Interesting that these trees were destroyed in an avalanche that didn't run all that far. My guess is that a massive cornice gave way along with the entire winter's snowpack below it.
