Diverted off the summer trail/"luge course" in Main Porter to investigate if In Between had slid during this last cycle. Sure enough, most of the main slide path was bare down to shrubs and ground, and the avalanche had easily jumped the gully, with the toe of the debris within 10 yrds of the summer trail. I would estimate the debris just before and in the gully was 15ft+. Nearly all of the pine saplings on the lower slope that we typically ski through were buried or obliterated. I think this was most notable just due to the proximity to the summer trail, but it didn't actually extend beyond historic clearings into older growth. There was about 8" of new snow when we found this at 4pm, so estimated to have slid in the early morning.
