Additional comments. My group preceded this skier trigger avy. We had earlier (10 minutes) skiid the safest far right line as was comfortable about 20 feet above the eventual crown. We stopped to probe the snow structure exactly in spot #2 skiers right 1/2 way down. At this location
with skiis on, I sunk into depth hoar to my knees and seemed to be nearly 2/3rds of the snowpack. Scary depth hoar I found, and we joked about skiing it. When we arrived, I also inspected the snow on a 30 degree shelf shown in location #1 and found similar construct 10-20 feet above the eventual crown. I heard no collapsing both locations but both inspections in those locations gave me pause and raised the hair on my neck. My take. The snowpack is still thin and you will find a shallow trigger in many places. The pack is quieter, but very dangerous IMO above 30 degrees with the basement facets that will take some time to heal. Stay safe out there everyone...
