We found a nice little test slope on the way up the Tony Grove Road. Initially, a rider triggered shooting cracks side-hilling a small slope. Cracking indicates unstable snow, and the rider intentionally triggered a small avalanche in the next test slope up the road. This soft slab avalanche on a petty small slope was manageable, but it indicates potential for much larger and less manageable avalanches on bigger and higher elevation slopes.
