I hiked to the boulder fields below Sundial Peak. The snow was getting damp and sloppy as I moved up. In fact, I saw a small wet release avalanche on the upper slopes south of Sundial.
When I hiked back to Lake Blanche later in the day I noticed a larger wet release avalanche across from Sundial. That is the avalanche that I'm reporting on in the report.
