Comments
Even if the forecast is moderate use extreme caution. Skinned to east lower ridge of Little Superior and noticed cracking each step then a huge slab 150ft in front of me broke. Decided to traverse back towards two trees. During the high traverse back I noticed 300ft below my earlier skin track another huge slab broke without my knowledge. These were huge slabs taking the whole layer of new snow. Even though I used extreme caution it felt like every step another huge slab would release. I was able to ride down Two Trees area but still encountered slabs breaking. The run outside of the avalanches were long and the debris was soft and heavy. Very fortunate lesson that conditions can be worse than forecasted.
