Comments
We noticed several small recent natural wet loose avalanches in the River Chutes and the Dugway Cirque Areas in Logan Canyon below Temple Fork Junction... We saw these and a few more around 1200 today, some may have occurred yesterday afternoon?
Comments
Reflections from wet snow or classy crusts shimmering on sunny slopes in the Wellsville Range.
Comments
I'll argue that the danger was MODERATE on steep slopes in the backcountry today, even though the observed natural and human triggered wet avalanche activity was fairly small. Record warm temperatures and the warmest readings of the season this time of year generally cause heightened avalanche conditions. I expect to hear of other natural wet avalanche and cornice fall activity from today and the heightened danger is obvious. Will drop danger rating back down to Low in the Logan Zone when temperatures drop below freezing for a little while......
