Snow Profile Comments
2+ foot soft slab failed over a 2-3mm MF crust. Collapsing also observed 2X on similar terrain features with newer snow slab above the crust. Protected S and SW aspects had thickest MF crust.
Triggered by several snowmobile(s) that had traversed bottom of convex slope earlier in the day. I skied onto it < 1 hr later.
Comments
Another reminder that new snow on MF crusts on S & W aspects deserves some consideration.
