Comments
Found this additional avalanche that was likely snowmobile triggered. It was nearby a slide that partially buried a rider. It is unclear if this slide was triggered by the same party or not.
Comments
Nearby in undisturbed snow the crust was easy to find. Because it is only 1-2 feet deep, IT IS REALLY QUICK AND EASY TO do a stability test on this layer. An Extended Column Test fractured (ie - propagated a crack across the column) after 21 hits (first on swinging from the shoulder). ECTP21
Basically, we treat any ECTP as an unstable test result.
