We only looked at the debris pile which was discovered late Friday, Jan 3. This avalanche likely happened at the same time as a natural avalanche cycle around 3:30 am on Jan 2.
R?D4 - Basically the nature of this path is that even a relatively small slide can be very destructive. The Alpha angle at the toe of the large debris pile was 28 degrees. It would be a degree or two less at the toe of the smaller debris pile that extended further.
