Comments
Skinning up Argenta this morning at around 7:30am we noticed some collapsing and shooting cracks when breaking trail. The precip rate was high (1-2 inch/hr) and the wind was steadily increasing as we ascended. We turned around at 8800' and crossed the gully to get over to the east side. On traversing the steep side slope on the east side of the gully I triggered a small soft slab 5" down into the new snow, likely on a density inversion, or maybe a graupel layer.
