Snow Profile Comments
Couldn't get close to the slide due to hang fire. We dug a pit in a representative spot near the slide path. Weak layer is facets underneath a rain crust. 55cm from the ground and 120cm from the snow surface. CT 11/ ECT 14/ PST 30 all clean plainer shears.
Comments
Neighbors observed this avalanche when the clouds momentarily cleared this morning. Zach and I went over to investigate and dig a pit. We saw lots of snowmobile tracks under the path, debris ran over the old tracks. Excessive hang fire restricted us from getting to the crown. Photo credit: G Brad Lewis & Zach Grant
