Comments

Witnessed this natural wet loose avalanche today at 1250pm as we were gaining a nearby ridge. Could not get my phone out any faster, so the video is what I got (you can see the debris still moving down low). Started from warming rocks on the vertical rock band and quickly entrained wet snow and gained speed, moving pretty fast mid-track. I would estimate this slide as a D1.5, but would definitely cause D2 consequences and a bad day when amplified with the terrain trap at the bottom of the path. We did not see any other signs of natural avalanche activity while we were out.
