Travel Into the upper basin of Broads Fork today showed evidence of the last week’s glides off the rock slabs of Bonkers, the Diving Board, and Blue Ice, with an area of D2.5-D3 debris down to the creek. After a mildly ironic conversation about the timing and voodoo surrounding actually ever witnessing a glide avalanche, we lucked out. About 3:15 PM we could see debris coming off of Blue Ice and piling near drainage bottom. With a very brief look on the way out, I would guess it was a southeastern continuation of the previous glide crown, all of them up there ranging from ~4-8’ deep. While many of the likely suspects have already avalanched substantially, there still are concerning pieces left, definitely crucial to keep up best travel practices underneath.
