skiing the main face off flagstaff shoulder, a dozen turns in, triggered a wet slide that began slow and loose but eventually took out a thin slab (see photos). started sliding with the snow which seemed benign at first but the momentum soon threatened to carry me into the gully. managed to slide out which was tricky given i was in a fallen position after about 30s/100ft. debris in gully looked deep.
i was alone and the sun was low on my list of things to watch for given the recent storm and familiarity bias with flagstaff. looking back, ignoring how strongly the morning sun shone on the SE face and small rollers at the top combined with noon timing, this was a brazen ski line and i got rapped.
