Comments
Toured out of the Crest gate today and stumbled upon a recently triggered avalanche off of Pioneeer peak a little farther down the ridge from Main Chute. Tracks from the top of Main Chute appeared to traverse across the ridge to a cliff band and from my perspective it looked like someone a slab above the cliff band which triggered a larger, much wider slab below the cliff band. The slide ran about 400’ or so. The crown looked to be anywhere from 4-8” and was about 100’ wide but I don’t investigate any further. Photos are stills from a video as I don’t have a YouTube
