Comments
I popped a wind slab below the ridge (circled in the picture). It fractured around me, but I was able to get my tips up and ski to the side and was not caught. It was probably 5 inches deep, maybe 20 ft wide and it ran the whole slope. I thought everything had sluffed already, per all of the existing slides paths and small debris piles, but I was wrong. Maybe the pervious activity was small slabs too. This was my third lap on this tracked slope. The skiing was good, you could even call it "powder", due to the wind loading. Though, old tracks under the new snow were very firm when you hit them. I saw 3 other parties drop during my ski day, always on the lower angle slopes to the south, and they did not trigger anything.
