Avalanche Advisory
Advisory: Provo Area Mountains Issued by Mark Staples for Tuesday - November 10, 2015 - 7:48am
special announcement

Until more snow comes, we will be issuing intermittent advisories that will be updated with each storm.

current conditions

A frontal boundary stalled over the northern Wasatch and only allowed about an 1-3 inches of snow to fall in the southern Wasatch mountains. Total snow depths are about 3-4 inches. With little additional snow coming and more clear, cold nights, today's new snow should experience strong temperature gradients and will become weak and faceted.

weather

While a mid level, frontal boundary stalled over the northern Wasatch, the main trough is further south and will move through southern Utah today. As this trough moves east, a slightly unstable northwest flow will form over the Wasatch and deliver only a few inches of snow tonight. Dry conditions conditions are expected through the weekend.
