The snowpack was 80CM in the area we dug. The biggest thing we noticed was at 40CM. We found what we believe to be buried surface hoar. 10CM to the ground were facets in the 6mm to 7mm range. Unfortunately I lost my snow science kit and couldn't look too closely at the grains to positively identify what we were seeing. The snowpack structure was weak, every time I tried to perfect my walls it just fell apart from 30CM to the ground. A CTE at 40CM, with a ECTN next.
Further north on our route we remote triggered a wind slab. The wind slabs seem to have grown exponentially since Sunday when I was in the area last. The winds were calm, the sun was out and it heated up enough to shed layers. We didn't observe any snow moving around though.
