Snow Characteristics Comments

Variable snow conditions across elevations and aspects. Ridges are largely scoured. Wind-deposited snow has rounded out cornices and leeward pillows are looking hefty. Near and below treeline and in protected areas, 4-6" fresh is still cold and fluffy, but snow conditions change quickly between wind buff, crust, and power.

Comments

We skied off Laurel Ridge into Gold Basin and took some turns on Tele Heaven, offering a good range of aspects and elevations. SE faces at & above treeline are windswept and thin. There's a little new snow on top of crust and it's a bit slippery. Below treeline, S faces are quite sharky. N faces below treeline are holding snow nicely. Warm temps in the morning abated with noontime cloud cover, but things are going to set up with any significant temperature swings. No red flags observed.
