Snow Characteristics Comments

Utah-like powder - much drier than earlier in the week. Surface hoar made for fast turns on lower-angle slopes. New snow is sitting atop denser snow from warm storm earlier in the week. Very right side up. Facets at the bottom of the pack are buried deeply at this elevation (8700'), and though still moist, are not reactive.

Comments

Second snow profile is from E facing 8700'. The CERC is stout and supporting a right-side-up snowpack. I still think there may be places where the snowpack is shallower/weaker, like the Wellsvilles, and you could trigger a PWL avalanche. Where the snow is deeper (north end of the zone), there's a very low likelihood of that.

With another clear, cold night on tap, I expect riding conditions to remain good on all aspects tomorrow.
