Comments
Travel was to the top of Reynolds today. HS ~30cm at 7800’, ~60cm at 8700’ and 80-90cm at 9300’ where I dug a pit. Noticeable improvement in coverage above 8000’ where obstacles are starting to be covered up. One of the most notable observations today was the widespread surface hoar above ~9000’ on the E and north shoulders of Reynolds (picture below). Snowpit at 9300 on an ENE aspect - HS 91, CTH RP down 51 on what appeared to be a very thin layer of 1mm or <1mm rounding facets. ECTX. Noted that basal layer was moist/wet enough to make a snowball.
