Creamy supportable powder on top of a crust sandwich snowpack. The snow depth doubles as you ascend from the base to above 8500ft. Lots of barely covered rocks and logs down low.

Problem #1 Comments

Some subtle layer interfaces within the new snow that manifest with a informal shovel shear test. The interface of the New Year's storm snow with the crust that it sits on also indicated poor bonding with some good shear quality with informal testing.
