Late start great start for us today. Headed up towards Scott's Backdoor from the Guardsmans TH. OVC skies with occasional bursts of sun shining through. PI rates of S-1 during our tour. HS ranged from 40cm-90cm, pretty shallow up high in the wind. Winds were C gusting L from the West down low and M with a couple S gusts from the SW on the ridge line around 9800'.
We did experience a massive collapse on a WNW facing slope at 9700'. It was loud and settled a very large area. The slope angle was about 20 degrees.
Skiing/riding was better than expected. We found the sweet spot!
